What is Medicare Part E? Medicare is a proposed component of the 116th Congress (2019–2020) H.R. 2463 – the Choose Medicare Act. This bill was introduced by Representatives Don Beyer, Jimmy Gomez, and Brendan Boyle on Friday the 13th, 2021. The purpose of the bill is to expand access to Medicare by creating a new public insurance option—Medicare Part E—that would be available to individuals who are not already eligible for traditional Medicare or Medicaid. It aims to increase competition, reduce costs, and offer more healthcare choices.
